Program: The rebuilding of the BNSF viaduct at Joliet Union Station in 2006 and a trip out west at on the Union Pacific and Rio Grande in the late 70s, a slide presentation by Ed Merzlock.

Society’s Midwest Rail Research Center Advisory Committee.
Sat:0900-1330 hrs. A round-trip train ride between South Bend and Michigan City with a visit at the Shops. A box lunch will be served on the train. Closed toe, hard sole shoes are required. No open toes, sandals, “flip flops,” sneakers, heeled shoes, etc. are permitted at the Shops. This is an active railroad facility. SAFETY FIRST IS REQUIRED!

Program: "Chicago Great Western Remembered," a slide presentation by noted rail photographer William M. Shapotkin on the fortieth anniversary of the demise of the CGW.
